چکیده
In this study, the effect of seed priming using ascorbic acid (ASA) on three commercial wheat cultivars i.e., Punjab-2011, Faisalabad-2008, and Ujala-2016 under salinity stress in both homogenous heterogeneous environments has been investigated. It revealed that different levels have significantly reduced growth attributes like percent germination, germination index, radical & plumule length, vigor index (In-vitro), seedling fresh dry weight, total chlorophyll content (In-vivo) with subsequent treatments. Salinity was induced by NaCl concentrations (100, 150, 200 mM). Seeds primed 50, 100, 150 mg/L ascorbic-acids not only improved but also considerably time increased (GI) indicating potential for tolerating saline conditions. Seedling (seedling Fresh weight) seeds higher than other non-primed prevailing Hormonal effective, nevertheless, best results were obtained 100 concentrations. We concluded delay mainly due to excessive Na+ accumulation cultivars. On hand, various proved be effective inducing salt tolerance terms parameters, characteristics, retention local

Induction of drought tolerance with seed priming in wheat cultivars (Triticum aestivum L.)
Delay in sowing and low precipitation (<300mm annual) in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) farming is the major problem in the irrigated and rainfall lands of Iran. A factorial experiment for evaluating the effects of seed priming on wheat cultivars was carried out under laboratory, greenhouse and at two field conditions during seasons of 2008-2010. Arrangement of treatments were Zarrin, Shariar, Sa...
متن کاملEffect of Cadmium on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Four Wheat (triticum Aestivum L.) Cultivars
Cadmium (Cd) is extremely toxic metal and reduces plant growth. Therefore, study was conducted to evaluate the effect of various Cd levels 0, 5, 20, 50 and 80 mg L on seed germination and seedling growth of four wheat cultivars (Sehar-06, Fareed-06, Inqlab-91, Chakwal-50). Cadmium showed toxicity at 5 mg L in case of root and shoot growth whereas 20 mg L in case of seed germination and germinat...
متن کاملVernalisation Response of Some Winter Wheat Cultivars (Triticum aestivum L.)
For 17 cultivars of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) different vernalisation and photoperiod responses were detected. The effect of photoperiod sensitivity was not significantly changed by vernalisation; different vernalisation responses were probably due to the presence of multiple alleles at Vrn loci. The delay in heading depended on the vernalisation deficit exponentially: y = parameter (...
متن کاملPotassium induced salinity tolerance in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)
Water culture experiments were conducted to study the response of ten wheat genotypes to external K application (10 mmol KCI dm3) at seedling stage under saline condition (0 and 100 mmol NaCl dm3). The data showed that there was an increase in the shoot and root length with the application of external K. The increase was more pronounced under control than under saline conditions. The better per...
متن کاملThe Effect of Priming and Salinity on Physiological and Chemical Characteristics of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)
In order to study of the effect of priming and salinity on physiological and chemical characteristics of wheat(Triticum aestivum L.), an experiment was carried out at the Experimental Farm of Shiraz University. Results showedthat primed plants significantly reduced its gas exchanges by accelerating senescence under a series of salt stress, which became more serious along with the increasing of s...
